Project Details

This mission is part of the Africa Minigrids Program (AMP), led by UNDP with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The program aims to deploy a unified digital architecture — built on the open-source Prospect Energy platform — for monitoring, transparency and results-based financing of renewable-energy mini-grids at continental scale.

For Mauritania, classified under the assisted national implementation modality (assisted NIM), the mission consists of deploying a national instance of this platform, integrated into the regional AMP ecosystem, while respecting the specificities of the Mauritanian context: a national legal framework for data protection, limited connectivity infrastructure at isolated sites, and digital-sovereignty requirements regarding hosting.
